Welcome Madisyn!!!

Madisyn Amari Peterson arrived this afternoon!

This is my cousin Kari's 3rd baby which is a little hard to believe since we are the same age and I still have zero babies. But I love all her kids like they are my own and I can't wait to be home.

PS: I already informed Kari that I'm pissed about the spelling of the name and the name itself. I'm mad about the name because there are probably about ten million little girls under the age of 7 named Madison. And I'm mad about the spelling because it's just really unnecessary.

But I'm not really mad--really I wish that I was on a plane right now heading to the hospital to be with my family who I haven't seen since Christmas.

PPS: Never judge how weird she looks in this pic--she's only an hour old so cut her some slack.

Just thought you might want to know that....

Meet Noah

This is the cute little guy my boyfriend Justin is dog sitting for his roommates while they're away on vacation.

Besides the fact that he's way too into nipping at my fingers, I love everything about little Noah. We took him for a walk today, and since Justin is located so conveniently close to Gramercy Park, our walk led us past the Gramercy Park Hotel and the paparazzi outside of it waiting for Jessica Simpson to make an appearance. The paps along with every single other person we passed by gushed over the dog. Having a cute dog is SO FUN.

Gramercy Park is one of my favorite New York neighborhoods. These beautiful old buildings surround a gated park that's always locked. You get a key if your apartment is on the park.

I need that key.

Noah also wants a key to the park

If this were my building....
I'd probably also have a driver and a second home.

And because as you know, no photo montage on brandycrawford.com is complete without a pic of Christos. This is Christos after a show a few days ago. I might also mention that on the same day he met Rachel Zoe and she told him that she loved his style.

His band has a show on Friday too is you'd like to catch his style up close and personal. It's at the Knitting Factory and it's going to be awesome--details and music here.

Black people can't wait to learn to swim!

Thanks Marines!

I'm completely offended.

Also--I don't swim and it has nothing to do with me being black. My brother and my dad are great swimmers. My mother and I aren't into getting our hair wet.

It's 100 degrees.

And the AC in my office is broken.

I'm covered in sweat and a fan is 5 inches from my face blowing everything on my desk around.

I had a fantastic weekend that included:

  • a scenic tour of rich New Jersey
  • a conversation with my boyfriend's yoga teacher mom about the importance of the correct squatting position for taking a good bowel movement
  • a late night house party that was full of large German nannies.
  • getting in the deep end of a pool for the first time in 5 years.
  • eating at a mall Cheesecake Factory
  • swimming in a pool ALL WEEKEND

Pictures and more explanation to follow. Unfortunately, I'm melting right now.

So.....

I have all these great things I want to write but somehow I never seem to have any time.

Here are some bullet points of things I would like to address on my blog in the future:

  • My friends and I are becoming adults. We have nice furniture now and are possibly purchasing flat screen tvs and Wiis with money from our checking accounts and not credit cards.
  • I am really enjoying my job. I'm doing more and feeling more involved and it's great. Although I pray everyday that my boss will say that we are relocating our office to within walking distance of my apartment, I do enjoy the fact that the store Steps is on my way to the train from work.
  • I have a video that will be done soon. I wrote it and my friend Nick shot it back in February. It was supposed to be done in March but I didn't remember Final Cut as well as I thought I did so it's taken some time. But I've been working hard and you'll get an eyeful very soon.
  • Stand-up--I'm going to be doing more shows. I've been going back and forth with myself about my comedy and how I want to make it happen. But the truth is, I love being on stage. As soon as I have that mic in my hand, I feel so great. And as soon as I hear that first laugh I remember why I love stand-up so much.

Here's a pic of my "in transition" living room. Yes, there's a story behind our new purple couch--in a nutshell: it is WAY bigger than it looks and it fit into our apartment by the grace of god. Also, living on the sixth floor SUCKS SOMETIMES.

But anyway here's the living room.

It's on it's way to awesomeness.
