Don't start with all the cheers just yet - I'm still not sold on it. I mean, it looks amazing and is so hi-tech but honestly I'm a little overwhelmed with all the apps and choices for customization.
And then there's the problem of The Number.
I have a 212 cell phone number. I've had it for almost 7 years now. It's my phone number. It's a part of me. I'd like to keep it.
But AT&T is being really shitty and saying that it's a part of the "family plan" so I can't keep it. I have to change it to a Georgia number because that's what my Mom has. (Yes my mom pays our cell bill and you can kiss my ass if you want to judge me for that) Yesterday was spent at the At&T store and then on the phone s-way with my mom and various customer service reps. I'd forgotten about my mom and.....Incidents.

When I was younger and I'd go out with my mom I would secretly pray that no one would start with her. Starting with my mom inevitably leads to....an Incident. First off Mom is naturally suspicious (I get this from her) and she's usually sure that The Man is trying to pull one over on her. My mom hates letting The Man win. And basically whoever is on her nerves at any point in time is equated with The Man. Even if its a small woman who may or may not have broken the line.
There was the time when I was 7 or so and we were at the JCPenney outlet and a lady mistakenly wandered in front of us in the line. But the time my mom finished chewing her out for breaking , I was cowering behind my grandmother and that lady I'm sure will never go shopping again, there or anywhere else.
Then there was the Incident when I was in marching band and the band directors wanted that years marching band to pay for new hats and capes for our uniforms that would be passed on to the next generations of Henry Country band members. My mom thought it was entirely ludicrous to pay $110 for something I wasn't going to get to take home with me. And she told my band directors this in no uncertain terms. I've never seen white men go so red.
I never paid for those hats and capes.
And who can forget the Pizza Hut Incident. They wouldn't deliver to my neighborhood because it was too black. When Rose got off the phone with them we got 2 free pizzas delivered within 10 minutes.
The latest Incident happened yesterday when I was on a 3 way call with Mom and "Kevin" from AT&T. Kevin did not give Mom the answer she was looking for and I sat silent on the line for about 7 minutes while she ripped him a new one. I STILL don't have my 212 number but she just called to assure me that it will happen. That she will MAKE IT HAPPEN.
Getting me this number has now become a battle between Mom and The Man.
ROOTING FOR ROSE B ON THIS ONE!!!!!
Also when we talked just now she goes :
"Do you know that Kevin is just a contractor?"
"Who's Kevin?"
"Bran....the guy from the phone yesterday who didn't know SHIT. I looked him up and he's just a freelance CONTRACTOR FOR THEM so he has NO IDEA WHAT THE HELL HE'S TALKING ABOUT"
I obviously get my knack for researching people who annoy me to find dirt on them from my mom.

Hilarious. My mother has a similar skill. I'd usually try to disappear when she wielded it.
We just did the Verizon family plan and got Droids. No problem with people keeping their numbers, even though we're in three different states. ATT pissed me off when I was planning on getting the iPhone. That's why I have a Droid. :)
Hope everything works out!
